PACKAGING MATERIALS
Films
Choose film for the packaging process: thermoforming, tray sealing, vacuum, modified atmospheres or shrinking. DEE INTRA offers laminated, thermoforming, rigid, shrink, skin and polyolefin materials. Structure, thickness, barrier performance and sealability are matched to your product and line.

Clear barrier and printed films
Barrier lidding films for vacuum, modified atmospheres and automatic packaging lines. Clarity, printing and properties matched to your product.

Thermoforming films
Flexible multilayer films for forming packs on automatic lines. Top and bottom materials work together.

Rigid films
For forming a rigid packaging base on thermoforming lines. Materials for different storage and processing conditions.

Shrink films
High-barrier films for vacuum packaging on Flow-Vac lines. They shrink tightly around the product.

Skin films
Vacuum packaging with a second-skin effect: clear film follows the product's shape and holds it on the base.

Polyolefin films
Flexible POF shrink films for products of different shapes. For semi-automatic and automatic packaging.
Match the film to the entire process
Process and equipment
Thermoforming requires compatible top and bottom films. Traysealers need lidding film compatible with the tray; skin packaging requires a film suited to the base and the machine’s operating conditions.
Barrier performance and properties
The product determines the requirements: gas and water-vapour barriers, clarity, mechanical resistance, printing and opening features. Freezing, pasteurisation and sterilisation conditions must be checked for the specific material structure.
Selection information
For an enquiry, specify the product, line type and model, roll width, preferred thickness and processing conditions. A pack sample or the specification of your current film can help compare options.
Selection questions
How do I choose film thickness?
Consider the product’s shape and weight, forming depth, stresses on the pack and the line’s capabilities. Assess thickness together with the material structure, rather than as a standalone measure of quality.
Can I change films without adjusting the line?
Do not carry over previous settings without verification. Check forming and sealing with the new film, and adjust temperature, time and pressure where required for the equipment.
Can printing or easy opening be specified?
These options can be considered for the appropriate film type. Agree the artwork, print position and opening method with the pack format and the line’s capabilities.
How should top and bottom films be matched?
Check sealing-layer compatibility, sealing settings and the requirements of the finished pack. Trial the material pair together on the selected line.
How are the required barrier properties determined?
Start with the product, packaging process, storage conditions and subsequent treatment. Use these requirements to compare material structures and their technical specifications.
